How the NAD test works
No GP referral needed. You take a finger-prick blood spot at home, post it back free, and get your result within 2 weeks of it reaching the lab.
Before you test
Taking a precursor? Keep taking it as normal if you want to see your level on it.
Want an untreated baseline? Stop NAD precursors for several weeks before you test.
No fasting is needed.
Four steps, from home
Order online
Your kit includes an alcohol wipe, two lancets, a plaster, a blood spot collection card with sleeve and foil bag, step-by-step instructions and a prepaid return envelope.
Take your blood spot
Warm your hands first, use a firm finger-prick, and let large drops fall onto the card. Fill every circle.
Dry, seal and post
Let the card dry fully, put it in the sleeve and foil bag, then post it back in the prepaid envelope within a day or two of taking it. Your sample is stable at room temperature in the post.
Get your result
Your result is ready within 2 weeks of your sample reaching the lab. It shows your total NAD with the reference range for your age and sex, and which of the five bands you're in.
Testing again
To see whether a precursor is changing your level, test once for a baseline and again after a few months of taking it consistently.
Keep conditions similar each time, including whether you're taking your supplement, so the results are comparable.
